We are the Rogue Hogues

A family devoted to finding balance between two high powered careers, children and our love of travel and adventure.

Our adventure began in Eau Claire, WI in 2005, as high school sweethearts right before going off to college. The life that has unfolded since has been full of twists and turns but our commitment and support of each other has never wavered, making the impossible, possible.

This blog was started primarily as a way to document things for our children to understand the ups and downs, the excitement and struggle of our lives. If you find yourself empathizing or in a similar situation we hope you find what you read here comforting in a ‘you’re not alone’ sort of way.

John Hogue

Leading a team of full-stack data scientists by day, an avid photographer, bicyclist, perpetual tinkerer and analytics community leader as time allows. John strives to role model what an involved, ambitious, career driven, co-parenting father looks like to his team, sharing all the trials and tribulations in his journey.

Xiaowen Hogue

A player-coach for a high tech team developing tools and financial instruments to hedge commodities, Xiaowen is driven to show what women in leadership can achieve without sacrificing time with family or pursuit of great food and fine arts.

Amelia

HEEEY!!! Amelia is the newest adventurer to join the Rogue Hogues. Living true to her name there is nothing that she isn’t interested in exploring, seeing or doing!

Jayda

Bork Bork! Jayda is our 9yr old Border Collie – Black Lab rescue that is the most cuddliest dog you’ve ever seen. Seriously, she will climb in your lap enough though she is close to 60lbs now. She loves hikes, walks, runs and playing fetch in or out of the water. She is obsessed with food and HATES being in the car.
